This Privacy Policy explains how AppWala ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the AstroGuru mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
To generate Vedic astrology charts, compatibility reports, and daily almanac information, the App asks you to enter:
This information is sent, over an encrypted connection, to our backend service to calculate and return your birth chart, compatibility report, AI-generated reading, or almanac data. We do not require you to create an account, and the App does not ask for your email address, phone number, or any government-issued ID.
When you type a place of birth, the App sends your search text to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to look up matching places and their coordinates, and sends those coordinates to Open-Meteo to determine the correct time zone. The App does not access your device's GPS location — it only processes the place name you type.
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob (App Open and Interstitial formats). Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect information such as your advertising identifier, device type, general location (derived from IP address), and app usage data to serve and measure ads. This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Google's advertising policies. You can manage ad personalization for your device in your device's system settings (e.g., "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
The App periodically checks the Google Play Store (or Apple App Store on iOS) to see if a newer version is available, so it can prompt you to update. This check only reads publicly available store listing data and does not send any personal information.
The App sends the data described above to the following third parties, solely to provide the App's features:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your birth details with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
The App itself does not store your birth details on your device after you close or navigate away from a result screen — each chart, matchmaking report, or reading is requested fresh each time you use that feature. Requests to our backend service are processed to generate your result and are not used to build a profile of you.
All communication between the App and our backend and third-party services uses HTTPS encryption. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Since the App does not require an account and does not persistently store your birth details on our servers beyond what's needed to process a request, most requests can be resolved by simply not re-entering that information. For any other request, contact us at the email below.
The App only requests Internet access on your device. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise GPS location, storage, or photos.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy. See also our Terms of Service.
